About Susanna

Susanna trained as a postpartum doula in March of 2016, and a lactation educator in September of 2017, and has been supporting families with newborns throughout the Seattle area since April of 2016. With 16 years of childcare and family support experience, she helps to promote solid foundations for new and newly expanded families that build on each family's unique strengths.

She offers compassionate and consistent daytime and evening support, with referrals to additional nighttime support if needed. Her goal is to help families with newborns thrive through practical care, non-judgemental emotional support, and education and referrals to resources specific to each family's needs. She prioritizes strong, healthy bonds between family members and the newborn through education on lactation, infant care, feeding, sleep, and communication.

Susanna's April of 2017 Sleep Savvy training helps her to bring extra focus to healthy sleep during her postpartum doula support. Her sleep philosophy is based on facilitating healthy circadian rhythms for the whole family, evidence based safe sleep practices for infants and babies, including education on bonding and neural development. Susanna works with parents to achieve sustainable sleep associations for babies, through gentle and realistic sleep practices which benefit both babies and parents. Every plan is unique to each family's needs and flexible with baby's developmental changes, to create a foundation for lasting, healthy sleep habits.
